How I Experience Intuition

I’m sharing how intuition lands in my system to open up the doors and windows for you on what it looks like, feels like, sounds like in real time.

Your intuition doesn’t have to be anything like mine. In fact, it probably won’t be. That’s a good thing.

I often say there are as many ways to “be spiritual” as there are people. Intuition is the same. It’s a deep, intimate, wildly unique part of you. No one else has it or can replicate it.

Okay!....flowing it out as it appears, in true intuitive style.

Goosebumps

I get these across my shins. It’s like a wave that starts on the outer side of both my legs and flows inward. It most often happens when I’m in a coaching or teaching situation and it’s my indicator that what I’m saying is landing in the other person’s system or there’s a quality of deeper truth to it.

It took me some time to figure this out. At first, I barely noticed it. It seemed almost inconvenient, a distraction. The more I felt it, the more I paid attention. I started to ask, what is that? And eventually came to the conclusion I just shared.

Now, it’s a welcome sensation and I smile a little to myself when it appears.

On the flip side, I sometimes second guess myself for not feeling it. Does that mean I wasn’t dialed in? I’ve chosen to let that go for the most part. The goosebumps are a gift. When they come, I enjoy them. When they don’t, they don’t.

Oracle Cards

These are important to me for many reasons. One is: they’re a way of speaking to the spiritual world with a different language. Because I can get tied up in my thoughts and often question which voice is what, oracle cards give me the opportunity to speak through symbolism, color and metaphor.

I do believe in the Law of Attraction, as in we are like magnets and like attracts like. (I think we’ve gotten a little out of control with the pressure of manifestation so I don’t work with it like that). But I trust the card that comes out has something specific for me in that moment. I have tried and tested this many, many, many times over the last 2-3 years and my relationship with it continues to grow.

Song Lyrics

This is a big one in my world. Often, I’ll hold a question, letting it percolate in the ether, and the answer comes unexpectedly and strongly through a song lyric. I can feel it land in my awareness, like, ah! that’s the piece I was looking for

Dreams

I have a folder in my phone notes where I keep them. Sometimes, I dream every night for days in a row. Sometimes, it’s quiet for months. I like to revisit them. They don’t always make sense in the moment but almost always a line or a scene will stick out that’s profound and meaningful for something I’m going through.

Writing

This one shows up in a lot of ways, but the one I want to share here is specific. Asking and answering questions. I’ll take something I’m unsure about and write it in question format and then answer it. For example: what is the meaning of life? The meaning of life is… Something always comes out.

I hope this is helpful for you! Intuition is deeply intimate and a language that’s learned between you and something greater than yourself. I hope this inspires you to look around your own experience and see with new eyes how your intuition speaks to you.
